oh cool. i liked the new site's look too. im making a mini game for you marmotte - probably will finish it once the finals are over...
very clean game - addictive!
cheers:D
really? what about the graphics? i didn't sent you anything...?Quote:

mmmhhh... that game with the cyclops inspired me a lot! why not several areas? why not have several playable characters? two player mode? better cuts (these are lame)? win items, money to progress? with new enemies, bosses?
wow! ^^ i think i'll update it! plus it's a lot like a mini-game for my RPG project.
very slick graphics as always marmotte,
and gameplay is fun,too :)
i like the outlined style, gives a cellshaded feel, please tell me which of the two pics (attached to the post) you like better
well i have the rocky download from a while back, ill just snatch the graphics from there. i could always use more though!

very niceslickneat.
great stuff again. and with your ideas incorporated it could be really great...
doesn´t beat bubble bobble though.

omg... is it... a flash game? visually it looks like a 3D game, character included, playing on the newest consoles... wow!
i think i'll go for the jet set radio style ^^ graphics elements are more distinct that way, plus the general graphics of your game fit that method very well (i like the color you choose, and the very good contrast/shadows).
also, in the present case, there's an ovni that is surely following you... his color is the same as the wall; if it's not cellshaded, i'm afraid we will not be able to distinguish it correctly if it's in front of it... hey, i wanna see it in action ^^
fospher.com
mmmhhh... you mean the graphics ripped from zelda? i don't use them anymore, except for some little details (mailbox)... maybe you can simply put colored square that i'll replace with the correct graphics later?
but tell me more about the concept of your game? i'm interested ^^ as i said, if you need my code (player's movments, attacks) in order to include an game included in the actual game, don't hesitate to ask...
fbulletproofmonk
^^ yes, bubble bobble is a very addictive game (i mean the original one, not mine, since it's not directly my game). the offline version is 9 areas long, and the online one 6. i'll post the longest version online probably ^^ there are moving platforms and a new enemy...
Marmotte, that Cyclop game is cool. And it looks good.
Well, you aked me to create a minigame for you in my Zelda post (http://www.rockonline.nl/zelda.htm). Im boring to death, so I'll try something and send it too you.
Keep it on, flashers!!!
yes, your zelda conversion is particularly well done
mmmhhh... you must be at school ^^Quote:
Im boring to death
don't forget, the graphics will be the same for the game itself and the mini-games. also if it's the same code for all the game, it would be great.
to be honest, i really need graphics instead of mini-games for now... because the engine of the entire game is quite advanced, a lot more advanced that the graphics, where i have something like 3 or 4 areas done.
that's why the cyclop madness is so cool; only one (or few areas) that are closed, so no way to wander all around > easier to produce...
thanks for your interest anyway ^^
cool,i didn´t expect such a reaction,thanks :)Quote:

even though you don´t draw your games´graphics (in most cases),i see from them that you´ve a very good feel for style,so,pleasure to hear such a comment from you :)
most of the graphics are done by our graphics guru phreax,i just reswamp them a little to get them that cell shaded feel.
i think i´ll also go for the jet set radio style in the final version, you´re right, its much more distinct that way, easier to seperate different shapes from each other.(initially i just wanted to give it a comic like feel :) )
if i don´t have anything to do this weekend, the first playable version should be up (very) soon.
YEAH! :D
i love it.
k.
Hey tom,
I really like the outlined one :D
About the "between-level" anims they should be up shortly as well :D I am trying to get as much flash done as possible between working and studying!
tomsamson - Cell shaded looks better
marmotte - once again you make a wicked mini game! damn, they kick ass...... Question - why is the silent hill guy not animated? he slides along! lol
Well done both og you egg heads (i'm saying this in a nice way :) )
^^
he's one of my friends... he's not animated because i haven't captured him; he was so busy creating the graphics... the project was rapidly avorted because of it's fps speed (fog effects, scrolling, then later night effects, shadows, monsters, storyline etc...)Quote:

> too much intensive for the poor flash player ^^
be ready for a cyclop madness vol.2, with more areas, more interactivity soon.
Hey marmotte your games kick ass. The last game I played of yours was kid ircus. I really like your cyclone game. I got a question. One I hope you can answer. I'm currently making a Harvest Moon game and I want to rip the graphics from the snes one and ill add some other ones later. Any way getting to the point. What program do you use to rip your graphics and how do you make them transparent or no background to them. Thanks in advance.
Laters.
i'm glad to hear you like my cyclop game; i played it myself several times just for fun (not to test bugs, it means i like it ^^). volume 2 is already on the way, story mode.
the actual game is more like a survival mode ^^
about your question:
check my thread "omega bird+several updates", it's still in the first page here (or maybe the second), i told how to do almost perfect sprites.
to rip the graphics, i'm using an emulator. to erase the border and make it tranparent, i'm using photoshop, then export into gif. but read that thread, there are some details to make the sprite look perfectly with flash.
and here are some links for you too:
http://tsgk.captainn.net/sprites_snes_harvestmoon.html
http://www.rpgicons.com/frames.html
^ these are harvest moon characters, items etc...
emulator usually will have some function to close down some graphic layer, example, u can close the background layer and capture the character sprite.
Thanks marmotte ill look for it.
mclelun:
yup thats what makes emus so great oh and the save state is great.
glad you like the outlined style,so i´ll definately go with it :)Quote:

you don´t have to hurry with the anims,
the first online version shouldn´t feature the story mode (where you play through several levels),but instead two player deathmatch/high score chase (so i can see fps on different pcs).
(still good to have em ready for the story mode, besides that i love to see your stuff,so send it over once you have some of it :) )
Looks good marmotte. Should add some random powerups maybe, like health or something and stuffs... Ok... yep... Anyways, nice game...
