Greener than grass.....
I am brand new to Flash. I have a Coffee Cup flash program but I want to expand my horizons. I'm probably way over my head but I just ordered a Macromedia MX software bundle and would like to know the best place to go to start learning Flash MX. Should I go use tutorials, buy a book, go to school or repeatedly bang my head against the wall saying why why? Thanks for all considerations...

hello and welcome to flash :D
I would recommend checking out http://www.moock.org 's Definitive guide to actionscript. The first six or so chapters are on the site for free and they are sooo helpful getting started, and of course spend lots of time here as Flashkit is the BEST resource :D
Think up a cool idea, then figure out how to do it by asking questions and looking through tutorials. That seems to be the best way to learn flash. One geeks opinion.
Good luck

http://www.friendsofed.com do some good introductory books, but for ActionScripting (as mentioned before) Colin Moock's ActionScript for Flash MX The Definitve Guide is probably the best book out there.

yeah, it's not the first time microsoft have done it either. a while back they blocked opera users completely claiming that since MSN had been rewritten as XHTML opera couldn't view it. on that occasion opera came back claiming their XHTML support was good (it is) and with the validation results of MSN's pages (most of them didn't validate, indeed many didn't even have doctypes)
have you seen the MSN homepage through opera bork edition? I took a quick screen shot http://studentnet.kingston.ac.uk/~k9...opera_bork.jpg :D
