Detect Width and Height from File Header?

I would like to programitcally determine the height and width values of any arbitrary SWF file, simply by opening the file and examining the header (or wherever). This is easy to do in formats like GIF. Is it possible in SWF's? Purpose is to enable auto-creation of OBJECT tag, even when no other information is available.

BTW: I got the size detection written in php and perl as well - however with an arbitrary swf file you should be prepared to handle compressed swf6
