Camera Query
This one is directed to all you photography buffs out there... I recently purchased a Fuji FinePix S602 digital camera and a 128mb SmartMedia card. The question is however is it possible to attach a USB hardrive into it? That need not be the only option it was just the one that immediately came to mind. So.. the stipulations are big capacity, reasonable price. Size and anything else is not an issue but obviously the smaller the better. Thanks in advanced. :)

I've had no experience with this but i'm pretty sure it's not possible as the software on the camera would need to be updated to include the driver for the USB Drive and most USB Drive are either powered by mains (no use for a camera) or powered through USB (no use for batteries...
Get a huuuuuuge capacity Smartmedia card instead... or a laptop for big storage :p

hmm, if your using smart media cards you can't use microdrives can you? Shame that.
I'm sure I've seen somewhere portable hard drive thingies that have a media card slot so you just fill it up, transfer, fill it up again.
I'll try and remember what its called........

That sounds like a handy device...
Try Lacie for all storage portable...

FujiFilm S602 -- excellent choice! It received some great reviews though I would have gone for Nikon 5700 but S602 is brilliant high-spec for that kind of price. I guess you did your research thoroughly. :)
Anyway... I looked here
and it appears it could take CF and Microdrive cards too. You could get an IBM 340Mb Microdrive for around £60-£70. Have a look at the accessories suitable for this particular digicam.
If you are based in UK, I recommend you go to www.7dayshop.com -- possibly the cheapest memory card in UK. e.g. 64Mb SM triple pack for £28 or 128Mb SM triple pack for £52. Even better 128Mb CF triple pack for £52.
There is also a 1Gb CF for around £180 but some digicams do not support large memory media cards.
Some people say that the larger your memory card is, the longer it takes to save the pictures to. So for this reason I prefer to have several 64Mb and 128Mb CF cards rather than one 512Mb card.
Hope this helps. :)

I know it's too late but sony now have 1gb memory sticks...
They cost 400 GBP + though

I think what you're looking for is a "digital wallet"...it's basically a portable harddrive with batteries that can download files from your memory cards. They can usually hold a few gigs, so that should be more than enough.
here's a review of one

Yesh...!
Hey guys, thanks for all the input :). The 'Digital Wallet' is just what the doctor ordered, and in reply to tonytryout's comment, yes, we did do alot of research on the camera.
