School Site

Hey,
I was just wondering if i could get any critique, suggestions or opinions on this flash site. It is for a school assignment that I am also going to use as a personal site and I thought I might as well get the general interface etc. as good as i can before I put in the content. A few particular quereys i had were what you guys think of the simplistic vector style i am current going with, whether the navagation was intuitive, colour scheme and general improvements. Actionscript isnt realy my best trait so i was also wondering if anyone can tell me the code required tp aquire the current frame number, analyses that number and depending on what number it goes to a particular frame? This would be used in the animation between the opening scene and the following one so that if the home button was pressed it dosnt start the reverse animation from the start, it starts it from where it is up to so you get a consistent effect. The site itself will consist of creation, which is articles, tutorials, work in digital medium (namely flash and photoshop) and other goodies, and recreation, which is cars, skateboarding, fingerboarding, hackysack and females ;).

Interesting approach though personally I think many of your users will have problems reading your sections. Fill in more of your idea and we would be happy to re-look at it.

Hey, thanks for the advice, I've done a bit more so I'm gonna post the updated version in a day or so when I've realy put a dint in it. And thanks for the comment on the UI. :D

Well, I have been a touch BUSY so I posted a bit later than what I would have hoped.
It is still only in the concept stage, as once I get to putting the content in I'm going to over haul the entire thing, split it up into three swf and match them up... which brings me to my final question , how can I click X in movie 1 and make that change A to B in movie 2?
(ps. busy=lazy, im on school holidays)

Lose the pixelated font. You lose any sense of professionalism with it. I had a hard time reading the two words that are laid back on the graphic. Transistions are nice. No real need for the full screen.

What do you recomend instead of the pixel font? And was it filling in the gaps on your computer? I was the one that wrote the words and even I cant read them :) They say creation and recreation by the way. The question still stands does anyone know how to make a link in one movie change a frame/variable etc in another?
