I want to see Metallica sued for using the term "metal" in their name by the steel and aluminum industry.
god. they truly have fallen to new lows. they should get sued for being public nuisances.
Finally, a good use for lawyers.
I only wish they end up sucking the Metallica bank accounts dry in their letigious pursuit of a perfect world, and we won't have to to endure anymore half-baked comments from a drummer turned 'spokesperson for the music industry'.
Really - what makes famous people think that they have the right to keep flapping their famous gobs? It'd be OK if fame guaranteed sense, but the two are mutually exclusive, rarely occuring in the same person.
I totally believed this yesterday, because I wouldn't put it past them. I still wish it were true.
They're such geeks anyways with everything else they've cried about, maybe they'll see this story and think it's a good idea.

I can understand them having a 'signature' sound and being a bit brassed off if someone is copying it straight out, but without hearing the unfaith music, I can't imagine it sounds exactly like it, and really, they should be passed caring at this point.
Didn't Elvis use the E and F chords together? Maybe Graceland should sue Metallica.
Graceland'll be suing you for using the word 'Elvis' without their express written permission.
And I'm probably next, just for posting this.
naw, I'm too low-budget for them to sue.
Good point - Sue if you like, but if you want to take all of my nothing, you'll still be left with nothing.
Thats really stupid, is so subjective, how can they make a point with that in a court??
Can u imagine how many people Levis would have to sue because they use red on their logos?
Or 2a for using blue and white on a website? (yes i know they have a new color scheme)
And if so the they (metallica) should prob also be sued for using those chords in the first place, thats really stupid.
Also, dowloaded the demo song from their website and it sounds just like any plastic new rock group does, nothing special related to metallica.
Has everyone bought this?
In other news, has anyone seen the "Sue All the World" RIAA charity animation (parody)?
hey, it's Metallica. I'm surprised they haven't sued a chair stool yet.
it looked at Lars funny, I guess.
that's not the point though, whether this is real or not the point isn't that they're using two chords together, it's that they're using those two chords together in a particular way that creates a unique sound that metallica regard as a signature sound.Quote:

absolute rot
come on kids, clear your heads, your not thinking clearly, its a wind up.
So they're not going to sue Bruce Lee either?
Sure it is, but it's only a matter of time before they go ahead and try it on.Quote:

Oh, BTW - did anyone see that they were planning on ripping down the Taj Mahal and putting up a shopping center.
Oh, wait a minute - that was true.
Next on the agenda, Razor, sued by Gillette for misappropriating the name of the implement used to remove unwanted facial hair.
Yes, i see your point but i heard the demo song metallica mentioned on the interview and didnt sound like that, however i know that i need to hear the hole album , but sueing because the sounds reminds u of metallica (the way they play the chords), i dont know, i feel is very subjective, and going that road might end in a very dangerous and stupid thing for the future (regarding any form of art or group), as i said before is very subjective.Quote:

anyways shoul be fun to see the lawyers go: "my client plays those chords like this cha chan cha cha chan "
It's good to see artists are still all about the music.
harley davidson sued honda over the sound of a honda bikes exhaust.
Honda modified the exhaust.
Maybe if their new CD didn't sound so bad they wouldn't need the extra cash so much :p
