Yep, I like the feel to this site. It is really appealing (choice of colors and motion of the text) and it made me want to check it out after seeing the demo. Whoever did the demo did an excellent job! Well done. :)
I was just about to post it myself.
Nice site and demo . . . nice service if you want a thoughtless clip-art logo.
nice site, really hits the message home especially with that demo and the application itself looks great. You do it all online and get an EPS at the end, sweet!
not good news for logo designers though!
thats nice - i liked the demo bit alot
ya it was a great (and extensive) project to work on. I dont know the specifics on the backend but it is the best logo development system i've ever used. you develop your logo (up to four), give people a link to vote on it and then choose which one you want. it then makes an eps and jpg on the fly and sends it to you. the only stuff uploaded on the site is the original eps and an swf (for viewing on site). I have no idea how tony and the rest of the 2a team got that working, but its great.
And its so fun to make logos, lol
(in case you're wondering, I work for the company that hired 2a to develop it. I dont work at 2a)
Guess I wont be designing any logos in the future :(
disagree with this statement. while it isnt a "customized logo developed by a professional", it isnt clipart. Clipart isnt vector, you don't have as much flexibility (color change, rotate...the features of the logo development tools), and these are all professionally designed logos we had made. The only way it is related to clipart is that it isnt made especially for you, it is available to anyone who pays the $150 to get a logo. But, since the database contains about 20,000 symbols now (100,000 by next year) chances that somenoe else will use it are low. And the target market isnt people who need a unique logo, its for small businesses who just need a logo and dont want to mess with large design firms charging a ton of money and spending a long time developing a simple logo. This way you design exactly what you want, and if you dont find one you like you can request one and we'll make it for you.Quote:

In the future we plan to have an exclusive set of logos that once bought, will be taken out of database. These will be more expensive, fewer in number and more detail.
Great idea. Great site. Depressing for the logo designers out there who will be hoping that clients don't see this site.
Great little site. The front end looks very simple, like a weekend job, but once you realize the work that must have gone into the logo generator thingy... man it makes a difference. I mean eps file on-the-fly? How in the world (wide web)?
Flip.
Like the idea...
I charge $500 per brand. That includes 2 edits off of original design comp after conversation and provide a final vector format. It's a little more expensive to use me than this service but at least the client gets the interaction and personal input for direction.
This service will do well, but certainly will not put brand creators out of business.
I will go against a database anyday to create a customized brand the client has input on. I bet I can come out on top everytime.

Site's great. The form page is lust at first site.
Hmmm...
Now why would anyone, especially on the web, ask me for a credit card without telling me the price?
I found it! Price buried on the third page, bottom right, in the About Us blurb. How the two connect i have no clue. My guess is it should be on the account creation page as well, some viewers may not hang around for the hunt, and move on. Maybe the strat is to get you to read the whole pitch before seeing the number, which is not a bad strategy. But bring it around at the right time or you look like you're hiding it.
A little bug:
When you go from any section to the "let's get started" page, you cannot return directly to the section you visited last. The other buttons aren't being enabled when you hit the "get started" button.
That'll be $50 please. :)
price is all over the thing, on the front page, about us, in the demo... :)Quote:

not trying to replace you (as in brand creators in general). its targeting the small businesses who cant afford you. of course the professionals are better, but they cost moreQuote:

what browser are you using? all the one's we've tested it in, we havent run into that problem. the only problem i've noticed with not being able to get to pages is when you go to legal and then try to get back to your last page (it thinks you're still there).Quote:

i cant wait for some people to actually use the site and post their comments on it. its a little disappointing that almost all the site will only be seen by the 1% of people who actually pay and use the site. there's so much back there that no one gets to see.
isn't there a demo password :)Quote:

I bet there is...
theres a couple...:)
It's a nice flash site. I'm not too sold on how succesful it will be. Surprised to see the credit card submission without a https secure connection.
So what if i find my logo being one of the "sample images"
?
it isnt but many new images will be added you never know.
Yeah I understand. And if I am short on cash I am going to get a green factory burger from McDonalds. But if I want to make sure I have the highest quality beef and that I get it the exact way I want it I will go to the meat counter, hand pick the beef and grill it up on my grill.Quote:

I understand who the service is marketed to and I don't think logo designers have anything to worry about.

you're logos are pretty much exactly what that site has to offer, nothing more.
