Does it matter if I put all my files in both the partition for both Mac and Windows?

Erm... another question... :)
Can someone tell me if it matters if I put all of my files in the partition that can be seen by both Macs and PCs?

It would simplify my work a great deal if i could.

Any help would be appreciated.
