Are fla files compatable on mac's and pc's

Hello,
I am using flash mx 2004 pro. I have a fla that was created with
a pc. Does anyone know if the fla will work on a mac?

OSX can open MX fla files if the fla is saved to disk, then flash is opened and you use the Open menu to find the file and open it that way. Don't know if 04 files will work that way.
