Photoshop 7 Help

Ok i need help, never done this b4 but its been on my mind for a while. I was wondering how i would achieve the following.

OK you know how they have those image that have been converted to black and white. Where the dark areas from a certain darkness are blank and the light areas are white ? Not Gray scale more i mean its either black or white. Does anyone know what im talking about.

I just want to use a photo of mine an apply that formatting.


Anyone know how this is done. If you dont understand dont hesitate to ask me to refraise :)

Also if the image has already been grey scalled then you can adgust it as acuratly as you want, adusting it by brightness and contrast :D
