Portfolio Site
http://bellsouthpwp.net/P/r/PrincessTupelo/
OK all I really need to know is how long the page takes to load. For anyone who looked at the last post I had on Site Check, I have added the animations on the buttons. Originally I took them off because they seemed to really slow down the site. The links don't work and most of the content isn't up yet, all I need to know is some opinions on the speed/button situation.
ALSO: When you go to the link above, you have to click on "Hide Menubar" in the top right corner, and you also have to disable any popup killer-type software you have running (holding down Ctrl. or Shift works in most programs.
Thanks, Tulane

Hey Tulane,
Your splash page says that you recommend users have 1024x768, but you've actually set the size of the Flash movie to that as well. Remember, there are about 10 pixels down the right hand side, there are about 200-300 pixels at the top, and about 100 pixels at the bottom that are being used for things like taskbars, scrollbars and menu bars. Also, many people don't run their browser at full screen. I recommend making your splash page smaller. I know you say I have to "hide menubar", but I don't want to - I'm using my taskbar at the moment and many other users will feel the same way.
The actual site needs to be in written in HTML with the Flash movie in that, like your splash page. At the moment, I'm being asked to download "MOVIE.swf" because there's no instructions on what else to do with it. Remember - if you don't have Flash MX/2004 installed, you can't actually view a SWF file unless you're in a browser with Flash player.
A quick note, "title" is not a good title for your splash page - I recommend something different :)
I hope this hels.

Sorry for the confusion...the "Hide Menubar" thing is part of my free Bellsouth web page, I didn't mena for people to hide their taskbars or anything. Maybe it doesn't appear on every browser but on my computer the "Enter" button won't work unless I do this. As far as the html, any pointers you could give me would really be appreciated. I'm actually more of a 3d animation person, and I'm building this website to show my work. While I learned Flash at school (OK one class!), I don't know much about html at all. I did try pubishing my site in html from Flash but the placement was always off. Anyway, like I said, any help at all will be appreciated.
Thanks, Tulane

Do you have access to Dreamweaver at all?

Yes, I have Dreamweaver MX

Export the SWF from Flash (File > Export), then use Dreamweaver to make the page and use the Flash file that way. There is a button in the toolbar at the top to insert a Flash file.
