stickying this for a while :)
Wooooo-hooooo! My first sticky!
You'll have to wait for reports on the upgrade though, its taking about 3 hours ( but I'm in South Africa )
Woohoo, just bought the new version of Flash (aka one Scudsucker linked too). Had to sign my life away to get it mind, but o0o0o00 baby, its worth it !
ermm, its a 60 Meg download but what does it actully do? i installed it and saw no noticable differences. Maybe i dont use the fetures that it updates but i really have found no difference, maybe im stupid, i dunno, what does it actully change?
The interface is very similar, although, its alot more aesthetically pleasing. Its more of the internal workings that have been fiddled with, alot of the bugs from MX(v6) have been fixed (Over 100 according to Macromedias official release notes). It also has the new improved ActionScript 2 ... which I haisten to add, will be taking full advantage of :D There is also a better components library and built in help guide.
It might not seem to be alot, but all the new features do add to the flash experience, and raises the bar for your next flash movie.
Regards,
ah rite, cool, not a big download really anyway with ADSL so dusn't matter. Thanks tho.
Fraggs i like ur Barbie quote in your name, nice touch
Thank you :)
Regards,
your welcome
Even though it's a 60 MB file download, the Flash updater downloaded pretty quickly on my DSL line. I believe it was around 6 minutes total. Anyways, as soon as I installed the updater for Flash, I noticed a huge improvement. I wasn't having to deal with those nasty file import errors that I got a while ago with a whole string of WAV files.
Hi. I've downloaded it but it refuses to install! It says that it cannot find a previously installed version! whats that all about???
Did you un-install Flash MX 2004?
No. Should I?
I would try that and see if it helps. Maybe the Updater will see that you have a previous version of Flash. If you're still having problems, you'll need to get in touch with Macromedia Technical Support.
Hi,
i just swtiched from Flash MX to Flash MX 2004 Pro V.7.0
i was surprised or i ddidnt get the change into the actionscript panel !
There is No More "Normal" or "Expert" Mode !
where did it go !
I was so engaged with the "Normal" mode, filling the forms was so nice, and i was enjoying it !
But now i dont know where did it go !
Have any idea or Hint to give ?
Did they replace it ??
thx alot in advance !
I think they got rid of the Normal mode in MX 2004 although I am not exactly sure.
normal mode was removed for MX2004. however there is now the bahaviours panel for adding simple actions, and also much impoved code hinting in the actionscript editor.
