General Sound Question

here's a genereal question: is there a way for flash to detect the frequency (note) of the sound being played? better yet, from a microphone?

no, you can get the mic volume but not the note.

You can use 3rd party software for this, but it will not give you realtime information.

if you were building an application with multiple notes you could easily script something. However bascially as stated, no.
