My import looks great on stage but when I publish it, it looks as though it converts it to 256colors. How can I publish this and mantain the original integrety. This will be running off a computer, not on the web so I don't care about compression. I just want it to look good. thanks for any help. I will attach the differances.
If the picure on the right is the final video look of your exported flash in quicktime I dont know how to solve the problem, but this is called Banding.
Some source say that using only the websafe palette can solve the problem. Other says it's in the codec used to export the video.
I have the exact same problem and i havent found any solution to it. I still wonder how broadcast can use lots of color in their video without banding.
I have tried to import my background in photoshop, added a small noise effect of 3%. I reimported it in my flash and once it was on video the result was better but not perfect.
But be carefull, adding noise to your background image will increase the size of your final exported video.

If you import quicktime in flash and you are using it as background, it should have the same size as your flash file is.
If you are resizing the animation in flash you will see some jagged pixels...
