new to flash need help
i am new to flash specially in koolmoves, i am very interested to learn flash and for sure you will expect a lot of questions from me which might be very simple for you guys, I really need help to learn this. My first question: is there a way to make one shape say rectangle but different length in every frame? question 2, what is the right book or reference i can buy to learn more about flash specially the action script? thanks.

ActionScript, the definitive guide, by Colin Moock. 2001.
The site is
http://moock.org/asdg/codedepot/
ISBN 1-56592-852-0
I am not sure of which other version to buy as there may be a flash 7 version out by now. I think the consensus here it to stick with 5, and 6 for the time.
I bought several gamers books on ebay also for about 10USD.
There are other links on koolmoves.com
I learned from all of them.
The attachment is a growing rectangle.

Hi Juvard, welcome to KoolMoves!
tmoore has addressed your post. I'd like to share some tips for your next one.
First things first - check the manual. The latest version with the registered copy of KM 4.6.4/5 is new and improved and pretty useful. About 5% of the posts can be answered in whole or in part by checking the manual.
Second, when you have a question, use the search function in the Forum. The senior members are generous with their responses, but you'll be able to ask better questions if you do some homework. Plus, many topics have been answered several times and in different ways.
The KM forum is a huge database filled with examples and links. Topics covered include Action Script (AS) references (book and online), performance issues, third party apps for specific functions (audio, music, graphics, etc), AS work arounds, special effects, and so on. You just have to ask the right key words.
Third, make the subject specific to the question. This makes the thread more useful to future users doing their research (for example "Any good AS reference books? Resizing shapes?".
Fourth, give enough detail about what you want to do or achieve when asking the question. I've seen a thread or two where it took a couple days to figure out what the actual goal was (time zone issue, et.al.). Meanwhile, several answers to the wrong question were given, if you know what I mean.
I could go on, but I think I already covered it in another thread :D .
