XviD?

Most of the video I have that I want to convert is in XviD format. When I open it up in flix, it crashes. Is there a way to get XviD to work with flix? It's getting a bet tedious converting everything to DivX first.

Xvid is an MPeg4 codec.

Try installing either:
3ivx
http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html

or
xvid codec binary
http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml

I have XviD (and 3vix) installed already. But the .avi's I have encoded with it crash flix.

Zip a small one up and post it and I'll download it and check it out.

We were able to encode that video without a problem.

Are you sure 3ivx is installed? Use the 3ivx installer in:
http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html


It could also be the audio codec that causes the problem. The file you posted has mp3 audio.
Make sure that you have the Mpeg 3 audio decoder (eg: Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 DirectShow
Decoder).
Goto Control_Panel->Sound_and_Audio_Devices. Select Hardware tab, select
Audio_Codec -> click Properties -> then click Properties tab. Make sure
that there's an MPEG 3 audio codec listed.

I was the original encoder of that file, I think I have the correct codecs. I may have forgottent to reinstall 3vix on my new PC (oops). I'm trying it out now.

Just installed 3vix and the latest xvid. Still isn't working for me :(
