I think it’s very accurate.
The important part of the very long winded point that’s made is that the pixel as a unit of measurement is not a fixed standard but proportional based on existing display properties; i.e., screen resolution and monitor size.
I think you're right. The point is made a bit self-righteously, but made.
Yeah, I think the entire article could be edited down to a single paragraph stating the history behind the 72dpi number and then why this number is no longer relevant.
Just one of those quirky things that catch on and continue to exist beyond their need.
I was interested when I saw this thread.
Then after reading 1 or 2 paragraphs I realized it really is much ado about nothing.
Yea, at first the 72 dpi thing was helpful as a guideline, but once you know what you are doing it is all pretty much all about pixel dimensions (for the web).
