Using ripped sounds?
Hi. I am aware that using media from others' IP to make money off of it is illegal, but suppose you wanted to let's say, use a gunshot sound from console game x in your non-profit flash game project. Is that also considered illegal? And I don't mean any music or sounds that are obviously from that game (like an intro song, or vocal), I mean stuff like footsteps, gunshots, and other sound effects. So, is it illegal or ok to use?

Sure its illegal... but for things like that, why bother stealing them. There are copyright free sound effect librarys all over the internet full of sounds like gunshots and footsteps.
Then you dont have to worry at all ;-)

Or use some cheap microphone to record your own footsteps.

Well sometimes there are certain sounds in video games that just seem perfect and searching for a similar sound of that quality can be almost impossible. Are you sure about it being illegal in non-profit stuff? Do you know of any links that might help me read up on that? Cause I searched but didn't find anything regarding this. Also, are there any sites in particular you recommend for high-quality sounds for action / shooting games? Thanks!
