Most webcams will come with some sort of software to do this... if you haven't already bought the webcam, a network-based cam may be something else to consider.

dude. how is that!? I've read about it, but zero worthwhile reviews.
I had the DCS-900 (non-wireless version), and it broke on a car trip (long story) - apparently doesn't take much abuse at all.
Video was OK, but the Java applet sucked. The ActiveX version was better, and I even wrote a custom VB app to pull images for custom stuff ...
