I find it funny how there's a bunch of movies/TV shows out now about a war we are still involved in. Shouldn't we wait 25 years until it's over?

jarhead seems to be about the first golf war, which was over 10 years ago. MASH was about the korean war and it came out at the end of the vietnam war.

No it wasn't.

The show was set in the Korean war, but it sure wasn't about the Korean war.

I read Jarhead and it was pretty good. Got a chance to see the author speak, and he was pretty entertaining. I'm more interested to see how well the movie captures the book, and how the movie is received in the current political atmosphere, since the book is a pretty "warts and all" view of Marines in combat.
