good but robots dont dissapear when u go back to main menu
yeah, interesting start, its exactly like the tutorial.
anyways, make the bullets disappear when they hit the bad guys, make the ground scroll better, make the bullets shoot less often. add powerups. make it so that you cant go way outside the edge, and you have a game!

i didnt try it out yet, so it wont be perfect:
you simply replace up and the _y or x values with whatever you want and he'll stop in place. then to remove the baddies use this untested code:Code:if (Key.isDown(Key.UP) && _y > 0) {

that or something like it with the for loop should remove the baddies when you go to the title screen, or instead of removeMovieClip, put: enemy.gotoAndStop(2) or whatever frame that they are disappeared at.Code:for (i = 0; i <= enemyCount; i++) {
enemy = _root["enemy"+i];
enemy.removeMovieClip();
}
those ideas should work.
also to make the bullets disappear, you simply put where the code is for the bullet when it hits the enemy to removeMovieClip the bullet that hit it, so it would be like _root["bullet"+bulletCounter].removeMovieClip.

Anyway, to help the learning process, you should take this game, and add more and more to it until you have an awesome game. That's pretty much how I made my first attempt at a game...but that kinda flamed out...maybe you shouldn't listen to me after all...

I think you should have a forced scroll since it's a bit too easy right now.. (I just scroll a little bit.. shoot up all the baddies and scroll a little bit...lather..rinse..repeat).
Also, the scroll seems to hop a little bit.

Thats the same tutorial I started from. I think I got frustrated somewhere around step 543,453 of 1,000,000 .
i found tonypa's stuff and i like the style of tile based games so i might leave this one and start a new one!! anyway this one sucks!!
