King Funeral

I watched some of the highlights last night. It was actually interesting, I admit I didn't know much about her activity after her husband passed so I am not going to pretend I did. It sounds like she did great things to advance the cause of civil rights.

That said.

I thought some of the remarks were too politically over-the-top for a funeral... for example.

I just think that is a little out of line. Unless one of Coretta Scott King was very outspoken on this issue in her life, I don't know that she was, it seems highly irrelavant at her funeral.

It just seems like the dems want to use this somber occasion as a political pep rally. I find that a little distasteful. What do you think?

She was outspoken on those issues.

If you think this was political, you should read some of the eulogies King himself delivered.

I think it's somewhat shameful for people on the right to be making political hay out of people remembering her saying what she believed in.

Ok, my bad then. I didn't realize she thought there were no WMD's in Iraq. I admitted I didn't know alot about her life.

Whaaa? people on the right making political hay of it?

Who would thought that a daughter of an Slave (with respect to her) one day would have a funeral that 4 presidents and the senate would attend..

I guess even in her death she continue to do good. This will go in history.
