It took a while to finish, but I think I pretty much made this a flaw less game in what its suppose to be...so enjoy.

You know, asking for opinions and at the same time saying your game is "flawless" is like drenching yourself in blood and jumping into a lions pit. You're asking to get ripped apart! ;-D
I don't like how all your graphics have darkness outlining them. Why didn't you use PNG with alpha transparency? Then your grass and ostrich would look much better.
Next, I really don't like the use of those smudges on top of the menu items. Looks like you were experimenting with the new Flash 8 blur effect... and it didn't work out. Looks crappy.
Running and jumping are more or less cool, but what is that big thing that I have to duck under? Doesn't look like a tree. Doesn't look like the branch is really sticking out where you could hit it either...
The music's really good, but you probably ripped that from somewhere, so it doesn't count.
Oh and why does the Ostrich blur when it jumps? Things that should blur are things that move by the "camera" really fast, like the forground grass. The Ostrich is "fixed" relative to the camera, so it shouldn't blur, other than it's fast moving legs.
By the way, speaking of Ostriches... I know they can't fly, but they still have wings ya know. What happened to yours? Birth defect?

At a first look I thought it was kinda, I dunno... different, but as I played it 2 or 3 times it began to be very addictive :p . The idea and gameplay are very nice and over all, as I said, it's addictive. Though I agree with Ray Beez in the gfx comments he made, but I liked your game, very good job

Birth defect?
p.d. Oh yes, and a button to stop the music would be nice ;)
Its deffinetly not "flawless". The graphics are horrible and the blur effects and going to give me nightmares for a long long time.
The coding was fine though, aside from all the uglyness it is a pretty good game.
The graphics look darkish and could be brightened up and a bit more contrast added but its making a clean impression and looks nice still. Good job!
to answer some of the questions
1) Yes, I do know ostriches have wings. I wasnt going for a real ostrich though, I Made it so that it looked fairly like an ostrich, besides, it looks funnier. I was actually thinking of making a scene where he gets his wings ripped off and starts running, which would give the game a story of some sort, but I said F it I would have to do it in 3d to make it seem like it fitted in with the rest of the game.
2) I do use PNG's. The only problem was that I used maya to do the gaphics, and didnt realize it had an option to save a render as Png.
3)you mean the glowing stuff? eh, I just put it in so that you could see the text with all that background behind it.
4) The branch was sticking out, Its hard to tell cause of the angle, remember, this was rendered in 3d. Some of the stuff isnt obvious, which is why I made the objects glow.
5)I only wanted to blue the legs of the ostrich, but it blurs the whole movie clip, also the reason they get blured is because of the animation loop. It was my first time with 3d animation so It wasnt perfect.
6) I dont know why
7) I know the graphics arnt the best, but jesus crist, how in fthe hell are they bad (besdies the few things that were wrong)? I dunno, maybe you just dont like those types of graphics.
anyways, thanks for the replies.
There are way too many Flash 8 effects in the graphics overall. Everything is either glowing or blurring, and it all kind of clashes with the theme of the game... the outback, nature, Ostriches. With the semi-realistic graphics, everything feels out of place when placed together.
Also, the tree branches aren't always very understandable how to dodge them or the time on the dodge.
It is good for what it is but I wouldn't call it flawless. In fact, I can't think of any game I'd call flawless...

I dunno, I guess when you look at your own game for so long you get used to it.
oh btw, the glowing effects are used to help you decide what to do, dont you guys read the instructions?
Agreed.. quite true...Quote:

Hey, I like the changes you made to the game. The shift of music is cool!. But I thought I was getting a descent highscore when I realised you made the game easier lol.
I was referring to the glowing effects on the menu items. There's seemed to be a smudge on top of the words too.Quote:

The graphics made my head want to implode. I couldn't play anymore.
definitely flawless
I didn't play it a second time, felt like too simple of a concept.
The blur made me happy.
