Me in Flash

Hello everyone,

Sorry if the topic is duplicated but I don't even know what to look
for - key word.

Well I`ll tell you what I want to do - what I want to make.
Imagine yourself walking from left to the right side in your SWF file.
I have seen once a website with a guy walking on it.

I think it was recorded with ussual digital camera as avi file or
something simular to it. He recorded that video by using
(white background - wall) behind. After that he cut the white "wall"
or made it "transparent" and then imported it to flash.

I hope you understand what I wanted to tell you by that.
Now I`m looking for sort of program which could help me do that.
Or do I need a super professional hardware to create it?

I`m not very experienced with video so please advice.

Greetings, mrlame. I have an answer for you & it's called On2 Flix 8. I work for On2, so yes this kind of is a sales pitch but I really do want to help you. ;-)

What you're referring to is called Alpha channel masking. It's basically a separate layer in the video that lets you key out certain colors to create the transparent regions in the video. No special hardware is required.

Our Flix Pro & Exporter software allows you to preserve the Alpha channel when creating the Flash video. In our current version you need to key out the colors in your video processing software and then run it through Flix with the "preserve alpha channel" option enabled. In our next release, however, we're adding editing tools that will enable you to key out the colors right inside Flix Pro. It's a very cool feature and one usually offered only in very expensive packages like Adobe After Effects.

We plan to make our release in mid-April. If you want to buy Flix Pro now you'll be entitled to a free upgrade when it ships.

Yes this is cool indeed. However do you guys know anything else?
Anything simular to it? Can't believe you ;)

Maybe in the new version of Adobe & Macromedia :) will make
possibility of "cut the layer" or something hehe.

Sorenson Squeeze with the VP6 Plugin can preserve alpha, as can the Macromedia Studio 8 Video Exporter.

If you don't have Flix or Sorenson, you can fake it by putting the background of the page in the background of your video...That's about your only other option...

How much do you want to spend.

Sony's Vegas is around $500, you can remove any color backgrounds with its chroma keying. Cheaper version ( Vegas Studio ) is only around a $100 and you may be able to pull it off with that too.

If money is no object:
More expensive and a little better ( hollywood stuff ) goes up to about $2000
Look for Primatte or Ultimatte software.

Question, Just purchased the On2 plug-in so I could use it in Compressor to do multiprocessing rendering, Only to find out there is no audio normalization and no way to crop the edges of the video. Is this something we will see in a future version.

I`m having some problems to View movies in Sony Vegas.
It says - device is not available for previewing.

Anyway I`m going to check Adobe After Effect 7.
Is there any FREE TRIAL version to check (will check)

lets say I am filmed in front of a blue background, can I key out this in Flash or O2? I would buy the software it if lets me do that in "realtime" sort of by doing it with the webcam..

Since a week I've got Adobe After Effect that you can use to
do what you need to do...

I'd prefer this soft.
