Too hard :(
beautiful
Thats very cool. I really like the little monster dude and the mage/wizard. It took me a bit to figure what to do after you get the first piece of the third amulet. I had no clue you could go to the left or right. But after I got the hang out it, it's a very good explorer.
Great game!
How did you made the sound of it?I mean, wich program?
ps:a link to this 'discuss' is missing in this game in the games of the week thread
great. retro. and fun when you get far enough :)
I just love it.
nGFX
Really nice - I love the graphics+music.
Only thing that annoyed me is that you can die from shooting.
cool little game. Is this a remake of something?
i don't have speakers on this computer at work :( so i'm not sure whats the sound like. I would like to see some visual element that tells you if your being hit or not, i didn't know the torches could kill you until i realised my health was very low. But you might have some sound that tells you this
anyway, asweome retro game
Thanks everyone for the positive comments.
@ Aldarn I tried to pitch the difficulty to make it so it was challenging but not impossible. It does appear from the high scores that someone has finished it already.
@ Cimmerian The music was was made using a cool old-school mono-synth. I composed all the parts and then overlayed them in Audacity. The sound effects are just random noises from a software synth I have.
@ HappinessSam I know what you mean about losing health when you shoot, but if you make it too easy to kill the monsters the game loses its edge. Also you do get the energy back for killing the monster, and if you kill all the monsters you get a massive health boost.
@ mr_malee No, it isn't a remake. But it obviously does draw on some old school classics like Imogen and Frak. And yes, you do get a sound effect when you are losing energy too quickly.
Ah... i completed it... most of my health was taken by that final electrode thingy :P other than that once i got the hang of it it was pretty fun, make it longer!! :D
