sony cybershot lenses

i have a sony cybershot dsc-p100, and i seem to remember you could get add-on lenses for it when i first got it (had it a few years now).

am i right in thinking i'd need to get one of these or these?

and then if i got one of those, i'd be able to use something like this?

if all that is correct, anyone have any experience with any of this? is it worth spending the money? any thoughts? recomendations?

i'm not going to be able to afford a new [better] camera for a fair while yet unfortunately, but want to get the most from what i have now (and i do love this little camera).....

Yes, just make sure the lens fits on that 30mm adapter; the eBay page doesn't specify the lens size. I got this and this for my Canon A620. The adapter was definitely worth it because now I can attach filters (polarizing, ND, etc.) to the camera. The lens wasn't that great, but the CyberShot's is £1.70 so I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

but now i've decided this is definitely what i want to do, i'm having a nightmare finding a lens adapter at a reasonable price and that will ship to the UK :(

Carly it's worth asking US sellers if they will ship to the UK, from my experience most will say yes if you have good feedback.

tried that. this guy wanted to charge me almost $30 shipping!! will keep searching......

just thought i'd resurrect this thread with an update.........

i eventually found what i was looking for, and the lens adapter and wide-angle lens arrived earlier this week:

not had a proper play yet, but seems pretty decent.

only rubbish thing is that you can't use the flash when the lens is on as it bounces off the side of the lens so you get a dark bit in the corner. but then i don't intend to use the lens much in poor light conditions.

on a side note, i also bought my gorilla pod today :D

looking good carly now get a snapping I wanna see pics using this setup...

Tell us how that Gorilla Pod works out for you. I really wanna pick up the SLR one but it is $50.

i am itching to get out and play with my new lens and the tripod, but it's not going to happen this weekend (got the parents visiting) and probably not for a couple of weeks :(

from just playing with it, the gorilla pod seems awesome. it's really really flexible (as you can see from the pictures on the website), and it's pretty easy to slot on and off the camera. plus it even holds my camera with it's heavy ummm..... 'strap-on' accessories ;)
