My latest Show n Tell and the first game I have written with classes!! Wooooot!
An almost finished foosball game based on the premiere league teams :D

Is it too hard?
it is kinda hard, i really want to use the mouse, so i can move the players really fast.
In real life a player can only hold onto two rows of footballers at one time. Now it might be hard at first, but us humans can use our brains to cope with 4 keys. Lets say you use
q, w, e, r
each of those keys corresponds to a row of players, if you record the first and last key presses you know which rows to control, you then use the mouse's x or y axis to slide those rows. Clicking the mouse button will twist the rows or simply make this automatic (like you have). I also think the ball has to move much much faster. Foosball is all about fast paced action, almost like pinball
If you check points between the balls current position and last position for collision then you can get away with very high speeds. And since you only have one ball you can easily do this without effecting frame rate too much. Also treat the players like circles (circle Vs circle collision) and add forces to the circle when its being flipped.
If you use the mouse's x axis for sliding and then when the player clicks + hold the mouse button, use the mouse's y axis for force. This will give the players a chance to have better skill at the game.
I'm probably getting carried away here, if this game is just a small fun thing i wouldn't worry about adding too many changes
yeah it is hard til you start to get it :D I tried to keep it simple but I do want to make a mouse controlled one you are right... version 2!
I likes it muchly! very enjoyable
certainly didn't find it hard, but I might just have got lucky (+I was holding the space down the whole time)
a bigger pitch, faster movement and stop the players from going off the pitch sideways and it'd be a winner!

I wasn't crazy about the ball having a constant speed. I wanted to be able to pass the ball between my players. It was fun, but it didn't play much like fooseball at all.

you could still use mouse just split the screen... pointer is in the top half then control the top two... and the bottom half the bottom two.

Best foosball game in flash I encountered. allthough the others were all really bad, this one really gives the feeling that the real-life table has. In any case the best "pong with a twist" of 2007.

mouse is a very good idea!!!
I can't really grasp how a mouse would have made gameplay better... I was beating the crap out of every team I played until the 5th round or so it just seemed friggen impossible to get it past that goalie... That deadly angle pass to your front line works nearly every time.... pass an S pattern from your goalie and yeah.. :) I like it.
