Music copyright usage
Hi guys. We used about 2 minutes of an well known artist's track for a flash intro for a website and posted it live. Just wondering what the deal is with copyright infringements, how much it would be to buy the copyright, how much of the song you're allowed to use before you have to pay for it, etc.
Anyone got any ideas?

As soon as you are using you run the risk of the RIAA come knocking. Because you have already violated the performance/digital rights management.
Deals with recorded music usually come via the publishing house. Which can or can not be a separate entity then the artist or the label.
