Since that is a Mac program I thought to post it here. I am importing video files to Final cut. It is all fine but the problem is the audio of those video files disappears. Is there any way to maintain or get the audio back?
Thanks :)

I am not a pro with finalcut but I have access to someone who is, so I can try to help. What type of files are they and what codecs do they have? Also are you just dragging the files to the timeline or are you using the dialog.
Great, thanks :)
Those are mpeg files for examples and also mov files. Somehow when I import those movies I first have to render them. Then when I play them there is no audio. Same thing I noticed in trial of After Effects. When the movies are imported the audio is lost. May be on my site I am doing something wrong.
It's the format problem.
The rendering is because you're probably importing MOV files that are 640x480, and that PAL is 768x576 – so it has to stretch it a bit.
The audio, I have no idea why it happens, but it happens to me too. If you have QuickTime Pro, you can export the audio as AIFF and then import it into Final Cut after.
Thanks,
I have Quicktime pro. After that problem happened I started cutting and pasting in Qut pro and had no problem. But good to know that AIFF may work in Final Cut.
