OrbBlaster game
My new flash game went live today, OrbBlaster!
The game is a fun and easy to pickup shooter with a little physics sprinkled in for good effect. Also featuring many different enemy types with unique behaviors and stylish graphics!

Woot, second place. And some how you got me to play for a ******* hour and a 1/2. :p Very well balanced though. It's just frustrating enough to keep you going "just one more level". Bravo.

This is a perfect example of a good Flash game!! Very fun to play!
I like how when you shoot a bomb the green circle around your turret slowly fills up to tell you when you can shoot again. Plus 1!
I also like how the game silently saves your progress - most games dont have that. Plus 1!
The sounds for shooting are nice and I like the aplause at the end of a level. Plus 1!
Nice work!! What other games have you got in the pipeline? Was this game created in AS2 or 3? How long did it take you? What was the hardest part about the development process?

Thanks for the kind comments, guys!
Cortana:
The game was created with AS3, and took a bit over 2 months of core work. Although I did take a couple of weeks before that to ramp up to AS3.
The hardest part of the process was probably coming up with a cohesive style and feel as well the theme for the gameplay.
My drawing skills aren't too strong, so I had to pick a simple style yet still pleasing to the eye. At one point, I was going to go with shooting floating jello happy faces. But that turned out too weird.
I've got a couple of games in the pipeline. The one I'm currently working full time on is a more traditional shmup where you can move around, but with a bit of Gauntlet and RPG elements mixed into it. Should be done in a month or so.
Then the game after that is a deeper strategy, RPGish, team arena game. It's a larger project and one I've been dying to work on for past couple of years. Hopefully, I'll have gained enough experience and skills to implement it properly.
