When is it? I was sorta planning a trip to AD anyways.. (and I think it got shelved) so this MAY put it back on the burner...
(goes to link)
if I plan on going.. I'll meet-up with ya..
p.s. whats the avatar from? looks like a pic from a character from Dragonlance or something..
well....scratch that eh? (SOLD OUT!) lol
I would enjoy sitting inon this one:
ActionScript 4??
See what's coming in the proposed next version of ECMAScript, the language standard upon which core ActionScript is based. Discussion is based on the document "Proposed ECMAScript 4th Edition - Language Overview," published by the ECMAScript working group in October, 2007. Some, if not all features presented are likely to become part of the theoretical next version of ActionScript. Note that this talk covers the core ActionScript language only, not new features of future Flash Player APIs.
Presenter(s)
Colin Moock <-- funny/cool guy
BRING extra cokes (not pepsi)..and you may get a free book coupon from o-Reily..(any book)
Sorry Silent, we don't get cool sh*t like that here in the states... well some.
@whispers
His av is from Assassins Creed (which I can finally say I've played).
Colin started his AS3 tour about 4 or 5 hours drive from me but I didn't know about it. :( no worries though since I only have 3 more chapters to read in the new book.
jAQUAN-
thanks
I got to pop into the AS# groundup seminar with Colin..(Chicago venue) was fun..and was a better speaker than I thought.. younger, funny, and decent at communicating techno-babble to the lame folk..
I too have AS3 book.. and ive only got 2 chapters in.. went back to reading the AS2 book fully..LOL
imho actionscript shouldn't need to dance behind the ecma playbook.
Simply because someone at adobe thought it would be a nice thing if programmers had to adapt less.
All as3 does is make the average flash developer jump thru more hoops for the same results one could attain in as2.
I would say that about as1 vs. as2 but not as2 vs. as3Quote:

hi whispers, yep its sold out (was sold out when i checked it out too) ..but they have a volunteer scheme which i applied for, so i dont have to pay anything ... two shifts and the rest of the conference is free for you... go to the page http://www.fitc.ca/volunteer/ and look right at the bottom for the questionaire to download... good luck :)
I got to see Colin when he came to LA for the AS3 tour. A guy left in the middle of the thing to get a six pack of coke, came back and got a free book. 6 pack<cost of book = pretty good deal.
