been having a tonne of fun making my images lately, havn't used photoshop in a while and just re-learning all the old tricks is pretty enjoyable. i decided to show a few versions of the image, the arena is DEAD so i'm using it as a bit of a playground. :cap:
i basically started out just bringing in the car and the tree.. did a bunch of reflections and shadows...

...before deciding to base it on the arcade fire song by the same title. i brought in some typography with its own reflection and the lyrics overlayed on the left side of the image as well as a bit less blur and darker on the vignette. also added another shadow for the car from the little hole in the roof and made the tunnel more sinister!

this last one i tried to go with a more movie/tv ad feel.. played with the overlayed lyrics to make them look like they're on the wall and floor, as well as a more realistic floating style for the 'hey! no cars go.' i used the channel mixer (a great tool) to get the subtle colour difference.

definitely like the first one best. something about the text treatment on the rest of them just isn't doing it for me. Maybe #3 would be fine if you used a different font. It just doesn't match the feel.
Awesome lighting and great textures. Way to keep this place propped up man! I appreciate it.

sorry if the different stocks are blended too obscurely. just playing around in ps and trying to come up with some new techniques.

I wasn't sure whether or not extra stock was acceptable so I just ended up drawing the bird. I think sticking strictly to the stocks and using filtering and brushwork is interesting but I'm curious what you would prefer, Lefteye.
I couldn't pass up the two kids fighting.
