problem with Mozilla Firefox ?

We put up a demo site back in July, and up until today I could use either IE or Mozilla (or netscape) and see the pictures.Today, IE and Safari will display the pictures but Mozilla will not.

I'm clueless ?

I proved it, and reality it doesn´t work with FIREFOX and SAFARI, but with IEXPLORE it works well. I don´t understand it, it is the first time that happens to me this. I have FIREFOX as predetermined browser and I have not problems. I believe that it can be a problem of the route of the file AC_RunActiveContent.js. If your files .swf are in diferent folders is possible that it is this problem.

Are you sure your FoxFire Flash plugin is version 8 or greater? Go to Adobe.com using this browser and update the plugin.

bob, I will check it (flash player plug-in)when I get home. It had been working great(working since last July) and one of the band members called me to say the the pictures were't coming up, so I went to the site and got the same thing . I usually use Mozilla and it had been working fine.

to answer byweb, the swf's and AC_RunActiveContent.js are in the same directory - the other flash elements I have on the page are working - matter of fact it is all falsh.

Confirmed....Very odd, I've never seen this before.. I'm looking at it. Putz Any chance I can look at your source file?

My version is 9,0,115,0 current is 9,0,124.0 but I don't think I can upgrade as I'm using the debugging version of the player. But Have same 9,0,115 on IE Safari and FF

The problem is not the Html/Javascript which is what I first suspected as even loading the swf file directly it only works in IE. Very odd. Try updating player to 124 and see if maybe there was a bug in 115

Upgraed to 9,0,124 and still didn't work.....

yeah, I installed mozilla and falsh player 9 here on my laptop at work and it doesn't work either !

I will look for the source on that, but I didn't intend to post that site - it was only a demo - so I'll have to check for it.

The slideshows are swf's, with the pictures loaded thru an xml file on that version. The new site has the slideshows in the main swf and loads thru xml. I'll try that site with mozilla when I get home.

also, I found a html and swf in the folder from when I developed it, when I clicked the index.html the site worked with mozilla, but it is local (on my pc)

could this be a security issue ?

I only attached one of the slideshows, the other three are identical except for :
different size of slideshow - x and y, and ofcourse, different names. eg slideshow1_33X500.swf

Stumped! I don't see anything in the files to suspect. I keep thinking it must be an HTML issue as either the swf works or it doesn't the whole point of flash in the first place is no browser issues.

Ok here's what I think might be going on. I looked at the data xfer using Firebug in FF and the images are not loading for sure. When I try to directly access one of the image files I get a 403 error which is a permission error. So I'm thinking that your server has Hot linking blocked and for some reason when running in FF or Safari it looks like a hotlink request (others using your images directly) You could try using full paths to the images, like ../img_files/img_1234.jpg

I tried the adding the ../ to the image path - no help, I tried putting the slideshow directly in the main movie instead of it being an imported swf - no help.

I went to hotlinking and disabled it - now it works - it was strange how that stopped working all of a sudden - hadn't changed the hotlinking lately ??

The Firebug plugin for FireFox is great for debugging this sort of thing. I'm not sure why it was working in IE though.. It should have either worked on both or neither.

I came across this quite recently too. I thought it was an actionscript thing with firefox or problem with an update, but doesnt seem to be a problem now. Dont know what happened. Its a mystery!!!!
