convert to flv

Hi,
I am trying to convert .mov files to .flv.
What is the best way so I don't lose much quality.

Hi,

Your best bet is to use the Flash Video Encoder that comes with Flash. If your sole concern is with image quality, then simply encode at the best bitrate (I think it's [DV hi quality] in the settings options). However you need to balance your need for quality with consideration for the users you'll be targeting your video at. If they have a slow internet connection then it's going to take ages to buffer and play back your 99mb HD-resolution flv file.

Also, as with any lossy codec, converting to FLV will strip plenty of information out of the source file. It just depends on the type of video you have as to how much quality you will lose ;)

I think you can spam, it's a free video to flash video converter, I personally think it's very good

Yeah i am with you dan. i have never used any other third party app for encoding my movies to flv. Only once have i used a third part app and that was for server side encoding of uploaded files. i used ffMpeg for that(free command line app).

i know how to do it,i used this tool convert mov to swf,it help me upload it on my blog.

on a serious note...you can also use sorensen squeeze, but again you're essentially using a worse codec than the one that comes with Flash.

so is On2 the same quality as just using the flash encoder?
