Hi all, wondering how sites which include video, like BBC's iPlayer, allow such flexible jumping around with virtually zero preloading after a jump?
Is this down to setting up a streaming server, or down to the code behind??

I haven't used the iPlayer, but that's exactly what a streaming server is meant to do, let you jump around anywhere in the clip and serve up an optimized stream so there's little preloading/buffering time.
I believe some sites use a modified technique that doesn't require a streaming server. You can find more information on that here:
