Spotify
Does anyone here have an invite to Spotify? A few friends of mine have an account, and I want one too!
If you haven't heard about it, Spotify is a music streaming/p2p application, but it is legal! You can play as many songs as you like, as many times as you like for free. The only catch is that they play a short ad once in a while. But according to my friends that is very rare. Also, if you don't want to hear the ads for a day (lets say you are hosting a party), you just pay $1 (9NOK).
So, anyone have invites?

ShoutCast with TotalRecorder makes my day

I'll check out spotify.
I've been using http://last.fm lately and loving it. Pretty much endless supply of music, tailored toward exposing you to new music according to your tastes.

Apparently pandora.com is pretty good as well. My coworkers are always using it at work.
-
So no one here have an account?
-
Says that it's not available in the US.
-
It's available to anyone now, at least here in the UK, and very good it is too.
-
I'll take an invite if anyone has one.

A little Googling got me this:
Unfortunately, for those of us in the states, Spotify is only launching in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Norway and Sweden. No word yet on when they will be launching here.
So, something to look forward to, perhaps.

Hmm - UK it should be free to join up. I've been using for a while now - cancelled my Napster subscription after a few days of using spotify (save myself £10 a month).
It plugs into your lastFM account as well so you get your latests listens displayed on LastFM from spotify.
Main criticism - it needs a recommendation engine (or, if it has one, it needs a better one) I really liked the way Napster allowed me to browse music for hours through its recommendations.
I have a free account - it just has audio ads every 15 minutes or so which isn't too bad.
If you can access it (there will be issues trying to get it fro countries other than the UK at the moment), get it.
