I suppose it does not need to be the best.
What is a good 'free' program that will convert AVI, WMV and other file formats to swf simply to then be able to embed into a web page?
Does not have to be able to batch convert just something that works good and is simple for one at a time!

or take a look at this step by step tutorial on converting avi to swf/flv embeded in html with a flash player to play it on web like youtube.
If you directly convert your video to swf file, the resulting swf file will display on web page without any control buttons, such pause, stop, play, mute...
I will prefer to convert the video to FLV, then make a SWF player to play the FLV. You can use Adobe Flash CS3 to make a SWF player.
If you think it is too tecnical, you can use this flash video player maker, it is much easier to use than Adobe Flash CS3.
