Same name for a game
I am making a soccer game and was thinking about the name. Then I came up with "head 2 head soccer" but I wanted to make shure there wasn't a game with that name. I googled it and found that it is already used :( There's a "head to head soccer" for the iPhone and there is a multiplayer "head 2 head soccer" flash game. The game I'm working on is not alike to any of them and I really want to use that name cus it fits with the game quite well. My question is if there might be any infringement in using that name or one almost the same like "super head 2 head soccer"? Also what do you think about that, is it too long? Thank you very much in advance!

I don't think you'd be doing anything wrong legally by re-using the name, but it probably isn't a good idea. As for super head to head soccer it's a bit long and I personally don't like adding super, ultra, mega, uber, etc to titles.... maybe that's just me though.

The name could be registered as trademark, you should check the US and European Patent and Trademark Office:
http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm
http://oami.europa.eu/ows/rw/pages/Q...earchCTM.en.do
Currently looking up such name does not bring up anything so legally you should be fine.
However, naming your game exactly same as previous game(s) can still confuse players. If they want to find it by typing the name into google, your game should be first on the list.

i wouldn't use it in any case. it's a big bad internet out there and if those other games don't perform then your game could be misconstrued as being a bad game also.
go with a unique name. honestly you'll thank me later when you can easily google all the game sites that have you game.

Thanks for your useful feedback! you're right, chosing other name is the way to go... I'll see if I can come up with something new or a descent variaton of the one I had.
