Hi I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I am using this tutorial and when I hit the play button the masking tween looks perfect on the stage. When I publish or use test movie however the gradient underlay shows up on top of the text. Any troubleshooting advice?
What kind of textfield did you use? Dynamic or static?

OK, had a look at the file and the textfield that is to be masked was set to Dynamic. Switch it to Static and it will work.
That's so funny I feel retarded for not checking that. I appreciate your looking it over.
Not a problem,... sometimes it's the simple things that get overlooked. Happens to all of us at some point or another.
