I haven't been in Europe for long time now and want to carry for laptop, any suggestions for an adaptor?
When I traveled to the UK I just used a $5 prong adapter from RadioShack for my laptop.
The power transformer/powercord that came with the laptop was already capable of converting 100-240V 50-60Hz and it worked just fine.
Check the specs on yours. It's probably the same.
Germany is 230V 50Hz, right?
^ What he said. I just replaced the part that goes from the brick part of adapter to the wall. My Gateway and Apple laptops are rated for worldwide travel and all I need to do for those things are make sure I get the proper adapter from the brick to the wall.
I wish I could say the same thing for my electric shavers and stuff like that.
Where do I find the information for the laptop. I have an older G4. The power cord has a big rectangle white box, which separates the power coming from the outlet to the computer. Is that the transformer?
On your older G4, look at the actual brick - that big part that plugs into the laptop. Your rating should be there.
I had an older iBook/MacBook and all I had to do was purchase the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit... which I still have laying around/boxed up around here somewhere being unused.
If I find it, hell, you can have it. I have two or three boxes that are currently unaccounted for though. Need to locate one box full of adapters, step-down converters, whatnot.
Check out this crazy mo-fo!

I think the earth pin (the tall one) is the daddy. And not as in "daddy will you buy me a pony?"
