flash mx 2004 uploading control

hi all, i have an app im working on, i need it to be able to upload files, ive had a look on the internet and can only see flash used with asp etc. does anyone know of a good tutorial? also - In the IDE of flash i have only a few UI controls to browse through in the components box but it looks like there are more controls within flash that are only accessible through action script. is there a way for me to display all available controls in the components window.
