Has anyone checked out the new Buzz page in their gmail? It looks like google's own version of twitter. Looks pretty cool so far but I don't know what kind of API it has or if it works with non-gmail account holders.

I heard that all your email contacts automatically turn into your followers? and others can see your followers- so pretty much it just made your contact list public.
True?
Only if they themselves have public profiles a la twitter. You can also turn off the show following/followers feature.
[edit]
You can also have it display your twitter tweets.
Just saw that it is suggestion based now.
Anyone else using this?
ahhh only yesterday we were all fooled by wave....
I honestly thought Wave would be more open. It's a black box and therefor subject to penetration limitations. I still think it could replace collaborative communication but there needs to be a serious adoption push ie. integrate it with gmail. Buzz feels like what wave should have been. Conversation strings, inline images, api integration and thus far no character limit.
I just signed up for twitter... What a waste of time.
