And a £10 pom, apparently.
congrats...!!???
well I'm off to Brisbane in three days, will let you know if a Middle eastern Muslim with 3-5 Mohammed's in his family name is feeling any more welcomed than before :)
el-Ig, What are you doing in Brisbane?
(it's my hometown and I still live about 150km away)
david
travelling with work, what else...I have a couple of friends there, and to be honest with you DP it's my favorite city in Australia, people there seem kind[er] than the rest of the cities, that plus I love the big fair wheel thing across the river, always beautiful to go watch at night when it's raining
150 Km eh?? wanna come and break a bottle of Absinth??
sadly, work pressures mean that it is not likely :(
its, funny, I had to think about the wheel thing ....I haven't even seen it since it was built. When I left Brisbane, it was still just a big country town, and although my family live in various suburbs there, I seldom get to the city proper on my rare visits.

well my Australia trip was cancelled, I had submitted my Passport earlier for Visa Renewals and all, and it was delayed, instead I get to go to Beijing Tomorrow night :D
Too bad. I don't envy people who rush around the world for work. My brother lives in Hong Kong and is constantly jetting of to one location or another for meetings, conferences, trade shows. Hotels, taxis and airports doesn't seem like much fun except for the frequent flyer points.
Next time you know of a Brisbane visit, give me a bit more notice and we can exchange contact info and try for that absinthe experience.
sounds like a plan :)
