Duplicating Scenes Problem Plz HELP

Over the last month i have been developing a website.

i started with the first scene on the stage and built the home page including all its links and contents. within this scene are many symbols buttons and movie clips.

To cheat i want to duplicate this scene to create the next pages so i dont have to redraw the animations

home (Original File)
services (Duplicate of home)
contact

this however causes a problem. If i duplicate the finished home scene and rename it services and then edit the services scene it also edits the home scene

I'm assuming this is because all the movieclip symbols in the libary remain the same so editing the scene also edits the symbols for both scenes.

is there a way around this. otherwise i have wasted a months work
