Imported an 11MB WAV sample to use in a FLA movie. After tweaking and everything, the FLA came out to 16MB, and that's understandable with the WAV. But after removing the imported WAV from the library (and saving the FLA again), why is my FLA file still around 16MB? This has nothing to do with having exported or not... the FLA shouldn't be so big if there is nothing so big in the library correct?
I'm importing an MP3 instead now so I thought the FLA file size would drop. And it hasn't with the MP3 either. Still around 16MB (the mp3 is 1.3MB).
Can anyone help? I started this FLA in Flash4 but have been using Flash5, and saving in Flash5 too.

File size
I understand you perfectly, I have the same problem.
I have no idea how to solve it, just make sure its not in your library. On the good side, the SWF will shrink according to what you really use. Meaning: flash will publish a smaller file after changing the sound, flash doesnt publish anyhing in the library, just the elements that are actually used in the movie itself.
Try use loops or have the sound stream for smaller swfs!
Hope it helped a little.

Hi,
I had the same problem, and I found out that everything you ever import or paste into a FLA, is being saved in the library, even if you deleted it from the actual scene.
The solution is to open the window/library, look for the unwanted file and delete it from there. Since I am using Flash 5, and I'm new at this, I suggest that you make a copy of your FLA and try what I suggested on the copy. This way you wont hate me forever for messing up your work. It worked for me, hope it will work for you too.
If this is all wrong, and you find another solution, please let me know.
