pixelBoy series > first release
pixelBoy series...
maybe some of you already know it, i'm now developing some original little games that look like real gameboy cartdridges.
i just said "original" because i'm not using ripped graphics anymore. now i'm the real author of my flash games! yay! i'm maybe not a pixel art superstar, but it's not ugly also...
ok, here's the first game of the series, it's called "escape the planet" ( it certainly took me ten years of researches to find a title so absolutely perfect ^^. hehe)
some infos
- arrow keys to move, space to fire. that simple.
- meteorits have different sizes: when you shoot at the biggest, they divide themselves... it's sometimes dangerous, but your score increases more
- if you decide not to shoot at them, it's fine. they divide once they hit the extremity of the window... or just re-bounce at you!
- difficulty is of course increasing
what is missing
- sound. i'll put an original actionscripted music.
- ending. well, it sais you have to reach station AD-108, but it's not done yet.
- online scoring?
- maybe better cutscenes, but i don't want to do too much, the game need to remain simple.
- more options in the configuration menu? difficulty settings?
- maybe the buttons of the pixelBoy handheld interactive? when you push a key with your keyboard, it does the same?
i was wondering if it's too hard at the begining? and as there are in the space sometimes a LOT of sprites, is the game slowing down?
ok, thanks for your tests and comments...

it was running fine on my machine (PIII 500 MHz, 256 RAM) - no slowing down.
i think it´s a bit too heavy at the beginning - maybe the rocks should be slower and the movement speed increases. (just a thought)
k. ;)
btw: i got 2297 points
