Hour of Flash - The Return

Ok people, lets see how creative you can be.

What is it?
The hour of flash is a competition that we used to run in the early days of Flashkit. We set a date for the competition (next week) and at that given date, a phrase is given. The contestants then have an hour to make a flash movie / game / presentation on the chosen theme.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, what else do I need to know?
The swf file can be as small or as big as you like (width and height wise), can be animated, static, coded etc The only limits are your imagination. All finished swf files must be less than 100k and must only include graphics and code created in the hour.

Wednesday July 2nd - 20:00 GMT

Access to the web, a version of Flash (any version) and an email address.

Dude, I don't have to enter a design comp to know that these youngsters would kick my unimaginative, corporate-style arse all over the shop.

Hence my lack of participation in the Battle forum.

Anyway, next week's my birthday - I'm going for a 7-day booze up 'fest to beat all fests' party.

because when its judged, the flas have to be submitted and you can tell.

you get the theme and have one hour from that point to produce something, if it's not submited by the time an hour's passed you're out.

Nope, doesn't matter at all

how can you tell someone hasnt gone over the hour limit?
because the fla has to be sent to me within 1 hour and 5 minutes of the theme being announced, ie before 21:05. Late entries will be accepted but will be marked down.

Thats the start time. At 20:00 on the 2nd July I will send all entrants and Judges the 'theme'. From that point they have an hour to complete their work. 5 extra minutes are allowed in case of delays with email etc. all fla's must be sent as well as the swf's.

I'll create a micro site tonight, stay tuned...

The form is for signing up to hour of flash, it makes sure I have your email addresses to send you the phrase to.

The idea is that you have one hour to develop a movie with the theme that is announced. I do not use the movies for anything, this is merely a competition for fun that we used to do years ago which was very popular (when people on flashkit actually flashed).

DigitalOne, riceraver, can you fill in your details on the form and stick in the comments box that your are a judge.
