AWESOME! is it finished?
Don't believe so. I used all the patience I had waiting for content to show up, but nothing came up! Oh well, it's still amazing to look at.Quote:

cool stuff. im guessing its not finished cuz i couldn't find any content. right now its a pretty nice experimental piece tho:D
i dont like it. the designs is just to wild.
Ugly, boring and pathetic is a better description.
Reading how he compares himself with Pollock ( on his main site) page )was good for a nice laugh though. It's like Justin Timberlake comparing himself with Beethowen.
I respect your oppinion, but I do not agree with it. Joshua Davis, I think, is a great designer. All the elements in there connected together nicely and I really liked the graphic work. However, I don't feel it is a very friendly site, and it took ages for each page to reveal itself.Quote:

Good if the client isn't the conservative kind, personnaly I prefer lighter colors as background, it is also too soon to rate such site... not much content yet! :)
does this guy actually make sites for clients? all i ever see is experimental flash work.
The yellow is giving me the willeys, That has to be his weirdest work yet.
snooping around my client work eh ?
--
no content yet - just backgrounds
--
yes, I get paid to produce this work for clients...
and this... http://www.joshuadavis.com/client_work/trollback/
and this... http://www.joshuadavis.com/client_work/giantoctopus/

oh and ClydeTheGlyde...
"Justin Timberlake comparing himself with Beethowen..." hardly Pollock was a prick and so am I... so it looks like we have tons in common.
ass knuckle.
I wouldn't call seeing a link you posted at Ultrashock snooping around, your highness.Quote:

nice illustration work, i would like to see it when it's finished to see how the content is displayed. only thing is that the animations take to damn long.
nice, it's always interesting to see your stuff evolve from the developed to the utilised.Quote:

:)
i love the way the screen has become a canvas.
at least someone is showing off what flash can do other than just 'flashy' navigation and really interesting BEEP sounds.
if anyone found it hard to navigate :
"explore by clicking around willy-nilly or by using"
(added to favourites)
when does the site actually go live?
any feedback on that Mr Joshua Davis Sir? ;)
not my style, clicked it away in a second
LOL! :shhh:Quote:

:D man, is joshua from New York? from the color he uses i'd believe he's an underground Hip Hop artist, quite influenced by Vaughn Bode and the flower power of the 60's and 70's.
It's quite original, but colors are just too strong for my eyes :D
yes I live in NYC.
colors gonna burn eyes and skull.
the only way to ride.
:D cool! i think you just broke my brain though! i see everything yellow! wait! this forum is yellow too!....i'm outta here! :D
i'm waiting to load that trollback thingie link but it takes ages to load with my 56 k, so i can only imagine how it looks :(
lol. the one thing i love about trollback is that none of the text makes sense.
nice one :D
oh and the image is rather nicely done.
This type of navigation isn't terribly new or unique, as you can see....
http://www.opaldust.com/ver3/special...eb2/index.html
hell, i even use it
www.design-ninja.com/museum_2/index.html
as you can see...
I did this s_h_i_t way back in 1999 with Bad Boy Online.
http://www.joshuadavis.com/portfolio...adboy_archive/
so it looks like I'm ripping myself off.
anyway.
the client asked for it - wasn't my call.
that's low, you should sue yourself! :DQuote:

Joshua, as you're here, with lurk mode turned off, i hopw you can answer this little question, i'm kinda curious:
do you reuse code, elements, stuff! for every new project, or you start from scratch for each new work?? i guess the layout and design elements must be done for each client, but the backend i guess you kinda have a pre-done structure that u keep reusing in everysite. Am i wrong or am i right?hope you haven't gone yet
mr hall and myself write most of our work using components and XML.
that way can port stuff to new projects as we see fit.
however this maybe only constitutes 20% or 30% - there's still a good 70% to 80% that we try to build unique for our clients and their projects.
lurk mode * turned back on.
I like the style.
Maybe this might help now you are going down that crazy illustrative path.

such as:

.
thanks for the info joshua.Quote:

Please don't say you are gonna be making techno-ey sites like this on a regular basis. Not that it isn't good looking...just looked up to you as the innovator...unlike that other company everyone here likes to go down on.
;)
What's up with the phoenix on once-upon-a-forest? You redoing the site?
-FITZ
now great. he's the man.
i wonder how the people who run the sites know his work has been placed on fk and always come to talk about it... it's like they had an alert option : "tell me instantly whenever joshua davis is mentioned in a post"....
same with Shane and 2A, and all the "famous guys" :)
naw - I'm not going tech. I'm helping Designer Rey Rodriguez do some generative work for his company and portfolio.
you know tech isn't my style.
the forest ? just playing with new ideas.
ever heard of server stats? ;)Quote:
