Uniroyal Fun Cup
I just found this game online, I am in awe. Might possibly be the best Flash game I have ever played.
Whoa! Those graphics are insane! I wouldn't say it's the best in every catagory (I hate that type of control), but that is indeed the best game I've played overall.
For those of you wondering... yes, that "Whoa!" needed all of that.
Ah. More work of Andre Michelle. I wonder how his AS 3.0 3-D experiments are going?
Although it is one of better Flash race games I've played, best game in Flash? Naw.
I mean, in some respects, I like Knugg-Racer more.
I also played a few WIP which I loved to death. Sure, they aren't "realistic" 3-D, cool panning and world rotation stuff, but they are solid, easy to pick up, hard to master...
Generally, any game I can play and can't stop to me is a really great game. This is one of them http://jayisgames.com/archives/2005/...bania_kuru.php. But I know a lot of people wouldn't like it as much as me.
The best game in Flash, to me, is still N. Nothing has come even close to the level of fun in that game.
Then again, I'm not much of a race game fan.

Fastroots by Michelle is a thousand times better imo, but I don't like racing after all.
come off it...
The technology is pretty awe inspiring for flash, but there are plenty of games that are more interesting, more fun, and original.
Please post some of those other games.
I'm not trying to proclaim a best game, other than by what I have seen so far, and of course by my own preference.
My intention is not to fight about the best game, I was just very impressed by this game. I'm sure there are lots of games I haven't seen yet, so please post your favorites here! Cause if there are games better than this out there, I would definitley like to play them.
It definitely deserves a technical achievement award.
I agree. I like Fastroots better than that game. The ending camera alone for Fastroots is a must see:

And I have posted some other games. If you want to find N.. here it is... http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/downloads.html)
Here's another one I can play now until doomsday:
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/squares2.php
Simple, but the music, flow and power-ups but all imitations to shame.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Here some others I like a lot:
Meteor Busters Hardcore, insane, shooting action...
GoGo Happy and Smile - More crazy shooting action. WARNING! Only play this in IE for the full effect...
Heli Attack 3 What can I say, that hasn't already been said about this game.
DanMaku Hare!!! If you can read Japanese or are a pretty good guesser, it's a fun mouse click shooting game with great special effects, etc...
And for those of you who want to play a game that invokes emotions.*

*It is not really good though... :p
I actually think Raiden X is the best game in flash. Graphics aren;t everything. Fun factor is the most important to me.

The sqares game is fun, but I guess it seems like it could be made in an afternoon. Not by any means saying that it's not fun or not addictive. Lumines is my favorite game on the PSP and it's by no means as technically advanced as 99% of the games on that system. Hell Tetris is probably the best selling game of all time, and it's pretty simple at it's core.
But I guess the wow factor is really there for that uniroyal racing game. It's very addicting too in a different way than the squares game, if you are into racing games.
more added..
After playing Fastfroots again, I remember why I like it over the other game. There is never a moment in Fastfroots where I can say I felt like if the controls were tighter or I could see the course ahead of me, I would have done better....
That blobber game on another thread is similar in many ways to squares in terms of gameplay and concept.
Blobber game is more like a Katamari Darmacy-ish thing with mouse controls. To completely different games minus the "growing bigger' aspects.Quote:

Heh. Cool. I'm glad the Dots author found a client for that game.
Naw, I don't think it's the guy. Probably just a clone...Quote:

In both games the core gameplay is moving around an object that is attatched to your mouse. In both games you are avoiding some objects and trying to hit others. Even the squares 2 game has those similarities, that if you think about it... are very core to all those games.
Just about every game out there has similarities to 100's of other games at the core level. Wasn't dissing Squares or Blobber by pointing out the very distinct similarities. Both also have distinct differences. And yes... it has similarities with Katamari Damacy as well. Biggest difference is the 3D environment and control that kind of borrows from Super Monkey Ball in some ways.
All games do a little borrowing. Super monkeyball is similar to Marble Madness in terms of control if you take a step further back. (even without a trackball)
Naw. I can see similarities, HOWEVER how you play them is completely different. You can water down ANY gameplay concept like you did to say "it is the similar as X". Every side scroller is like mario, every space shooter is like R-type, every Japanese RPG is like Dragon Quest. I try not to judge a game by the gameplay concepts (unless someone admits they're making it like X game...), but I judge the game by the game's rules and objectives.Quote:

Looking at the games like this, they are different games. Sure they have mouse controls, and sure something grows as you eat it, but if you tried to play Squares like you played the blobber game (try to eat the smaller red squares) and you would die.
They don't even share any graphic similarities.
While if you compare Squares2 and the Apple game:
Square2: Grow as big as possible by eating the black squares and avoiding the red. Black circles are good power ups, red circles are bad power ups. Score is displayed in the center and objects come from the sides.
Apple: Grow as big as possible by eating the apples (which are good for you) and avoiding the cakes (which Cookie Monster tells me are only good in moderation now.. >_< ). Score is displayed in the center and objects come from the sides.
See the difference.

That level of pimping has brought a little tear to my eye. That's beautiful :)
Squize.
Needs bigger lettering. ;)
Seconded! :D Wow, I could rant for ages about the brilliance of N. Or I could steal 'someones' (;)) expression and say that it's 'pure sex'!Quote:

Well, it seemed justified, since only one person replied to my topic on it.Quote:

Being level based as opposed to just continuous doesn't really create a huge difference in my mind, since the core gameplay itself is very similar.
Thanks for leading me to these games, cause they are really fun. Katamari is one of my all-time favorite games, so I am really enjoying these.
geez!! sudendly the possibilitys just become so much more!!!Quote:

It takes a LOT more effort and programming skills to pull off something like that in Flash and have it run smoothy than other languages...Quote:

That sounds more of a sticky sort of thing to me, but that's not a bad idea, Helmsman.
Lolz. I see what you mean by Best Flash Game, it is a technilogical acheivement noo doubt, but for me,I jsut HATE those controls :(
Just a personal thing I guess. I also find Raiden X... I dunno.. Mundane? I'd prefer the N-Game. So much to do, so little time!
I don't like the idea of a best flash games sticky, better keep the forum for discussion and help between gamedev's. Allthough I'm only visiting this forum for a half year now, I understand that there's a certain kind of knowledge-level connected to this forum and I try not to ask total stupid questions (I'll ask them in the actionscript-forum :) ). I'm afraid a great list of links to the best flashgames ever will pollute this pages with stupid questions in the end because such a thread attracts people of all kinds (eventually people who don't even know what flash is).
If you guys are interested in playing more and better flashgames than you encounter on every popular site today, pay a daily visit to the following pages/blogs:
jayisgames (I think WilloughbyJackson also told you this a thousand times I think: Visit this if you want to know about the best, most original, and most attractive flash/webgames ever.)
nordinho A bunch of people are very active in searching for new and attractive webgames.
lazylaces Actually a point-and-click-adventures-blog, they post everything (good or bad) wherein you have to point-and-click!
Jay's blog is good but there are lot of games which made in Shockwave and Javascript.Quote:

The same i can say regarding other two sites :)
I believe that there aren't too much Flash games we can called "Best Flash games ever" and most of them can't be found on portals such "MiniClip", "ArmoredGames", "BattleGrounds" and others.
I don't think youcan ever label a Flash Game "Best Flash Game Ever" It's just impossible. Too much preference and opinion surrounds that statement, or so I think (*Gasp* more Opinion and Preference *Gasp*). But I guess that you cna make a collectio of "Really good" Flash Games :D
Not best O.o
Miniclip has some good ones...Quote:

Personally, I agree with Flashman...It's a matter of taste. I can play Square2 until the cows come home, but I can not say that about its many clones and variations which exist.
my favourite flash game ever is motherload - I have played it for hours! - drilled down to satan himself..

:smoov:
Bouncinglemon, perhaps you'd be interested in purchasing Motherload: Goldium Edition? It's the expansion pack.
Lawlz. Flash Game Expansion Pakcs. What a joke. But it makes un-taxed money (I think), so I guess I'm I can't berate it. Meh, Paying for something isn't what I have in mind at all. Especially for a Flash Game.
Careful here. I hope you was joking, but keep in mind that FK does not allow to post about pirated software - Tony
Excellent Graphics but the game gets boring and its not in english.....Quote:
