Petition for Macromedia to improve the Macintosh Flash Plugin.

Whenever I make an animation I am blown away when I see it on a PC. It's so much smoother and so much faster!

Overall I'm frustrated with the behaviour of Macromedia products on the Mac. I'm not talking molasses but compared to running the ap on a PC —_It's agrivating. It's like I'm working on a 5 year old machine. a 3-5 second delay for every action adds up.

for the record I'm running Flash MX on a T1 with OSX and Flash MX on a Dell running winXP. By all accounts the Mac is the more powerfull machine. (I'm not evangelizing, in my case the Dell's processing numbers are lower than the Mac)

So what's up with that?!

Add me to the list...Mac users need much more attention from the Macromedia developers.

Macromedia only cares about MAC user to buy the Studio MX and get the money i GUESS !

1. They also neglected Coldfusion out Studio MX bundle
2. Flash player among many other problems its too slow on the web IE and some time NS don't even play actionscript or animation heavy sites
3. They ought to Fix the complete full version including Coldfusion and distribute it to mac user as an update STUDIO MX.

they are the one to realize that enough is enough "period" too sad that we have to tell MACROMEDIA about wel known problems missing parts.
May be we are barking up on a wrong tree

I have been sending one Mac gig's and strong Macromedia product user's concern to Macromedia Canada. em crying they do not answer me:o why????

I've just posted a question concerning why my flash projector was performing soooo badly on a mac...I guess this answers my question.

It sucks if you are trying to give a client a demonstration on a Mac, it just doesn't do your work justice!!

I totally agree with this. I am a graphic designer so I naturally use a mac. This means a lot of the people who view my work will also use a mac thus making my work look potentially pants!

Also I am not in a position to buy a PC on top of the Mac I have which means I can not play any online flash games etc - bit unfair I think!

It seems a bit rediculous that such a great package is being made to look so basic on the machines used by a large proportion of the creative professionals??

furthermore i say this;
as a group we should agree to not buy ANY macromedia products until they have addressed these issues. let's face it mx is window dressing. if i said you could have a flash player that was say 5 times faster than the current one OR the mx enhancements. which one would you take? how about we start exercising our influence as customers. stop the crap. make it faster not prettier!

Either a slip by one of their developers or Macromedia "officially" acknowledges a problem.
However, it doesn't seem like their pouring their resources into it. see Scott K. post.

XML functions don't work in the Flash Player on the Mac
Try load and sendAndLoad. Both fail.

They work JUST FINE for me. :)

That's all. Using Flash more and more...in a Mac environment.

Please sort this macromedia, it saddens me so much and it is so frustrating to find your site plays back painfully slow on mac, and perfect of pc! how can this be!

Count this as my SECOND post.
The flash player on macs (even dual G4s) makes me SICK compared to PC's.
Why should any more graphic designers, most of whom work on Macs, shell out 500 bucks for software that works half as well on a PC?

Yeah. It’d be sweet if they’d would improve it. The app and the player....

I love Macs and I love Macromedia. But I was really bummed to see how Studio MX ran on my Dual G4 (OSXJag)...and you can’t place the actionscript window in any of the panels...it just floats around...and if you get sick of it and close it takes like 12 seconds to open it again...sucks...

And don’t get me started on Dreamweaver...they shouldn’t even call it MX on the Mac.
It doesn’t have the MDI (Multiple Document Interface) thing like PC’s. It’s all floaty and stuff...like the old one...total rip off.

...could almost make you ‘switch’ back.

Heck I’d even gladly pay for a Mac upgrade…like ten bucks or so...
